An Introduction to Battleon Chat
|
What is Battleon Chat?
|
Battleon Chat is composed of two discussion channels via
Internet Relay Chat. The first is #battleon, which is strictly for the
discussion of Artix Entertainment games and products. The second is
#yulgarsinn which is a place for players to gather with others and discuss
just about anything.
|
Where is Battleon Chat located?
|
Our partner Caelestia.net graciously hosts Battleon Chat.
Caelestia.net is an IRC network focused on games and gaming.
|
How do I connect to Battleon Chat?
|
There are several possibilities:
The best way is to download an IRC client and
point the client to irc.caelestia.net port 6667 and join the channel
#battleon or #yulgarsinn once connected.
Caelestia.net recommends IceChat as a free IRC client for Windows users. Popular windows Shareware Clients
include mIRC and the
windows port of the Linux Client XChat.
If you are using Linux or another *nix XChat is an excellent X windows client.
For Macintosh OS X we recommend XChat Aqua.
For versions prior to OS X try Babbel, which also has
a PC version. Pocket PC users can check out Pocket
IRC, while PalmOS 3 or higher users can try upIRC. Java cell phone
users can check out wjIRC for non-java phones, which support MIDP 1.0 and Blackberry Devices the jmIRC client is for you.
Finally, if you use the Mozilla, Netscape, or FireFox
browsers you can check out ChatZilla an IRC
client integrated with the browser. Warning: ChatZilla is a bit buggy.
If nothing else works you can use the Java IRC client
located at SearchIRC. On the page
click the name of the channel after the irc:// link that you wish to visit.
